THIS ARTICLE FIRST APPEARED IN THE HAVERING DAILY.

The local Marshalls and Rise Park Conservative Action Team comprising of Councillor Robert Benham, Bailey Nash-Gardner and Councillor Nisha Patel, have recently announced the launch of a new campaign to install CCTV cameras in Moray Way in response to growing concerns from residents over persistent fly-tipping and anti-social behaviour.

Residents have repeatedly raised the alarm over illegal dumping and local crime in the area, calling for stronger measures to deter offenders and protect the community. In response, the Conservative Action Team are working with residents to secure funding/the installation of CCTV installation.

Cllr. Benham told the Havering Daily:
“Moray Way residents deserve to feel safe in their neighbourhood, and they shouldn’t have to put up with the blight of fly-tipping on their doorsteps. Installing CCTV will send a clear message that this kind of behaviour won’t be tolerated and that those responsible will be held accountable.”
The team is urging local residents to back the campaign by signing a petition and sharing their experiences to help strengthen the case for action. Plans include a fixed-position camera on Havering Road as you turn into Moray Way, with footage shared with local enforcement teams to support investigations and prosecutions

Cllr. Patel added:
“This is about protecting our environment and standing up for law-abiding residents. Fly- tipping is not only unsightly, but also illegal and it costs taxpayers thousands each year in clean-up costs. By using modern technology, we can help restore pride in Rise Park and support the police in tackling broader anti-social behaviour.”#
